Nun, wenn ich derzeit so aus dem Fenster schaue, scheint es, dass der Sommer sich nun doch allmählich dem Ende naht. Daher habe ich mir Gedacht, dass ich eine etwas ältere Anleitung von mir noch einmal etwas aufwärme und euch auch endlich hier auf dem Blog offiziell das Charming Double Drunkards Path Lineal vorstelle.
Im Gegensatz zu dem ersten „normalen“ Charming Drunkards Path den ich *hier* zeige, habe ich noch einmal die Ratschläge der lieben Mareike vom Rund Herum Blog herangezogen (die ja jetzt fast bei mir um die Ecke wohnt….einen gaaanz schönen Gruß ;o) ) und die Radien des Lineals so ausgelegt, dass der größere Bogen genau in den Ecken der vernähten Blöcke aufhört (und somit ein Kreis in Blockgröße möglich ist) und der zweite genau auf der Hälfte eines fertig vernähten 5×5 Inch Blocks. Die verschiedenen Möglichkeiten dieses Lineals werde ich mit der Zeit in verschiedenen kleinen Anleitungen vorstellen :o).
Und während ich in diesem Sinne gerade an einer Anleitung für eine Drunkards Path Decke mit einem kleinen „Twist“ sitze, stelle ich euch nun eine vereinfachte Version vor, in der ein „einfacher“ Drunkards Path genutzt wird. Dieses Mal aber endet dieser genau in den Ecken der einzelnen Blöcke, um so das Summer-Flower Kissen zu nähen:
Und das brauchen wir alles (bezogen auf das Schema und auf Meterware):
- Jeweils 20 cm Meterware von den Stoffen A-H
- 40 cm für den Hintergrundstoff (BG)
- ca. 60 cm Stoff für die Rückseite
- 60 cm Endlosreißverschluss
- ca. 2,4 Meter Kordel oder fertiges Paspelband
- Und eine 50 x 50 cm Kissenfüllung (z.B. vom Schweden um die Ecke ;o))
Aus den Stoffen müssen folgende Stücke mit jeweils 5 Inch x 5 Inch Kantenlänge geschnitten werden:
- Stoff A, B, C, D: Jeweils drei Charm Squares
- Stoff E, F, G, H: Jeweils zwei Charm Squares
- Vom Hintergrundstoff BG werden insgesamt 12 Quadrate benötigt
Ausserdem brauchen wir für den Rand und die Kissenrückseite:
- 22 Stücke 1 Inch x 5 Inch (aus Resten der Meterware geschnitten)
- 1 Rechteck ca. 52 cm x 57 cm aus dem Rückseitenstoff des Kissens
- 2 Streifen mit den Maßen 1,75 Inch x 44 Inch aus dem Hintergrundstoff für eine kleine UmrandungStoff
Und nun gehts zum Schneiden mit dem Double Drunkards Path:
Aus den Stoffquadraten A-D wird jeweils ein konkaves Teil des Drunkards Path mit der Seite 4 und zwei konvexe Teile mit der Seite 3 des Lineals geschnitten. Hierbei muss das Lineal so auf die Charm Squares gelegt werden, wie es auf der Kurzanleitung des Lineals gezeigt ist:
Aus den Stoffquadraten E-H schneiden wir jeweils ein konvexes und ein konkaves Teil aus und aus dem Hintergrundstoff (BG) benötigen wir vier konvexe und acht konkave.
Nachdem nun alles vorbereitet ist, kommen wir nun zum Nähen der Blöcke. Hier hat jeder seine Präferenzen und ich verweise hier auf meine Knick- und Absteck-Methode, die ich bereits *hier* beim einfachen Charming Drunkards Path beschrieben habe und beschreibe das nicht noch einmal im Detail. Arbeitet hier am besten mit dem Layout das ich weiter oben gezeigt habe. Am einfachsten ist es, dieses kurz Auszudrucken und mit eurer Stoffauswahl abzugleichen.
Habt ihr alle Blöcke genäht, könnt ihr, wieder gemäß eurer Layout-Skizze, das Kissenvorderteil zusammennähen und die beiden 1,75 Inch breiten Stoffstreifen als passende Einrahmung der Blume festnähen.
Die Vorderseite des Kissens ist nun fertig und sollte ca. 52 cm x 52 cm messen. Zeit für die Rückseite:
Wir teilen das Stoffstück für die Rückseite an der Stelle wo wir später den Reißverschluss haben wollen. Bei mir ergab das ein Stoffstück mit 52 cm x 37 cm und eines mit 52 cm x 20 cm.
Die Schnittkante des größeren Stücks wird im Anschluss umgebügelt und wir nehmen hier den einzunähenden Reißverschluss als genaues Maß:
Der Reißverschluss wird anschließend geteilt und eins der Bänder mit der rechten Seite nach unten und einem ca. 2-3 cm Überstand an der Schnittkante des umgebügelten Stoffstücks fest gepinnt. Die Raupe schaut dabei Richtung Bügelkante. Wir nähen das Band hier mit einem Abstand von ca. 2-3 mm von der Raupe entfernt fest und fixieren es bei Bedarf noch mit zwei oder drei Stecknadeln.
Das andere Band des Reißverschlusses wird auf dem anderen Stoffstück rechts auf rechts an die 52 cm lange Schnittkante genäht. Wir achten hier wieder auf einen Abstand von 2-3 mm von der Raupe.
Nun kommt der friemelige Teil beim Reißverschluss:
Wir bügeln den Reißverschluss am schmalen Stoffstück um und fädeln den Schieber so auf die beiden Raupen auf, dass die Stoffkanten der beiden Teile relativ bündig miteinander abschließen. Der Reißverschluss wird dann komplett geschlossen und der Schieber abgezogen…..ja…..richtig…..und das nur, um ihn auf der anderen Seite wieder aufzuziehen XD…..
Dadurch haben wir den Reißverschluss auf der gesamten Länge geschlossen und beide Stoffteile fest miteinander verbunden, was uns den nächsten Schritt enorm vereinfacht:
Denn nun „verheiraten“ wir Vorder- und Rückseite miteinander :o). Hierfür platzieren wir die Vorderseite erstmal mittig auf der Rückseite und schneiden etwaige überstehende Stoffmengen ab. Danach legen wir beide Teile auf die Seite.
Für das Paspelband nähen wir die 22 1 Inch breiten Stücke zu einem langen Band zusammen und nähen das Stück Kordel mit Hilfe des Reißverschlussfußes in den Streifen ein, um so ein ca. 2,4 m langes Paspelband zu erhalten.
Dieses Band wird anschließend mit einer sehr schmalen Nahtzugabe von ca. 2-3 mm auf die rechte Stoffseite entlang der Kante der Kissenrückseite genäht:
Anschließend muss nur noch die Vorderseite des Kissens auf die Rückseite genäht werden. Wenn ihr hier den Reißverschlussfuß eurer Nähmaschine nutzt, könnt ihr die Naht ganz einfach nah entlang der Paspel entlang führen und diese sitzt am ende schön spack in der Hülle.
Nun fehlt eigentlich nur noch das Öffnen des Reißverschlusses, das Wenden des Kissens und das Befüllen mit der 50 cm x 50 cm Kissenfüllung.
Et voilá: Ihr habt ein wunderschönes und farbenfrohes (kommt natürlich auf die Stoffwahl an ;o)) Drunkards Path Kissen.
