Nachdem der Sommer in den letzten Tagen nochmal seine wärmenden Finger nach uns ausgestreckt hat und wir noch etwas Sonne tanken durften, stehen die ersten Spekulatiuspakete schon in den Geschäftsregalen und kündigen die bevorstehende kalte Jahreszeit an. Ich persönlich liebe es, wenn es draußen wütet und stürmt, der Wind pfeifend um die Hausecken zieht und man es sich drinnen bei einer heißen Tasse Tee/Kaffee/Kakao unter seinem Lieblingsquilt gemütlich machen kann.
Und nachdem der Sommer so schön war und die tollen English Paper Piecing Projekte von euch allen uns wirklich sprachlos haben drein schauen lassen – egal ob Hexies oder Summer Meadow Blumen – haben wir unsere Köpfe erneut zusammengesteckt und möchten heute die zweite Runde English Paper Lineale von Gesine (Allie-And-Me.de) und mir, Philipp, eurem Dude, einläuten. Denn auch wenn es draußen bald zu kalt ist, um gemütlich dort zu sitzen und mit der Hand zu nähen (naja…zumindest für die meisten…für manche ist es vielleicht auch gerade richtig, denn bei vor Kälte tauben Fingern merkt man die versehentlichen Einstiche nicht so sehr ;o)) und die Jahreszeit des Nähzimmers langsam wieder gekommen ist, ist es doch schön auch mal einen verregneten Samstag oder Sonntag auf der heimischen Couch eingemummelt zu verbringen und am Sommerprojekt weiter zunähen oooder….einfach ein neues Winterprojekt anzufangen :o).
Und was passt besser in die Winterzeit als Sterne? Ja, Eiskristalle…aber Sterne sind doch für den Anfang auch nicht schlecht, oder? Und daher stelle ich euch stolz und mit großer Freude die neuen Allie And The Dude EPP-Sets vor:
Jedes Set kommt dieses Mal mit insgesamt 60 Papierstücken und da die 3/4 Inch Diamanten doch sehr klein sind haben wir uns dazu entschlossen noch eine weitere Größe dazu zu nehmen. Und so gibt es neben 3/4 Inch, 1 Inch und 1,5 Inch nun auch 2 Inch Diamant Sets. Und selbstverständlich in klassischer Qualität und wieder zu 100 % Made in Germany!
Da wir bereits beim letzten Mal so begeistert von unserer Probenäherin für das Summer Meadow Set waren, haben wir uns dieses Mal einfach zwei Probenäherinnen ausgesucht und…nun ja…..ich gebe zu, dass meine Erwartungen schon etwas hoch gesteckt waren…..aber was ihr beide da gezaubert habt….hat sie tatsächlich voll und ganz übertroffen. Euch anderen zeige ich die Bilder ihrer Werke am Ende dieses Blog-Posts ;o).
Keine Angst, sooo lange schreibe ich auch dieses Mal nicht, da ich mich gleich wieder an die Vorbereitungen machen muss, denn wenn ich eines aus den letzten EPP-Sets gelernt habe, dann, dass man nie vorbereitet genug sein kann ;o). Für ein weiteres, tiefgehenderes Tutorial schaut doch mal drüben bei Gesine vorbei, dort gibt es auch wieder die Ausmalvorlagen für die Sets zum Download und ein wirklich tolles Projekt mit Weihnachten im Hinterkopf :o).
Nachdem ich schon relativ früh gemerkt habe, dass die klassischen Muster, die man aus diesen Diamanten legen kann – 6-zackige Sterne, BabyBlocks, Hexagone und Ornamente –, bereits von unseren Probenäherinnen Friederike (@clacavi, http://www.clacavi.de) und Gabi (@diekreativenadern, www.die-kreativen-adern.de) oder von Gesine gemacht wurden, habe ich mich bei meinem ersten Projekt für ein eher schlichtes Muster entschieden, bei dem ich euch gerne die einfache Kombination der Hexagone und Diamanten zeigen wollte. Da ich gerade immer noch auf dem Leseknochen-Trip bin wurde das fertige Muster natürlich zu einem Leseknochen weiterverarbeitet:
Ich gehe hier nicht weiter auf das Nähen des Knochens ein (ein Tutorial dazu findet ihr hier) und gebe auch keine Anleitung zum English Paper Piecing (die gibts bei Gesine HIER) – stelle euch aber gerne das Muster dieses Leseknochens als PDF-Download bereit:
Da die 3/4 Inch Diamanten wirklich arg klein und wohl eher was für die Profis sind, habe ich mich für die 1,5 Inch Diamanten und Hexagone entschlossen und bin wirklich sehr glücklich mit dem Ergebnis. Auch wenn ich zugeben muss, dass das zurechtschneiden des Knochens nach dem ganzen Handnähen wirklich lange gedauert hat und ich eher 5 als 2 mal kontrolliert habe nicht irgendwie verrutscht zu sein :D:D:D.
Und wie versprochen nun die wunderschönen Ergebnisse unserer Probenäher und von Gesine zusammengefasst:
Den Anfang lassen wir heute Friederike von Clacavi.de (bzw. @clacavi) machen, die verschiedene Hexagone auf Basis der Diamanten genäht hat und auch wunderbar das Zusammenspiel mit den Hexagonen zeigt. Die fertigen Hexagone von ihr haben ein Kantenmaß von 3 Inch:
Als zweites das Projekt von Gabi von die-kreativen-adern.de (bzw. @diekreativenadern), die mit den Diamanten wunderschöne Tassenuntersetzer, eine kleine Tischdecke und eine Buchhülle gezaubert hat und die allseits beliebten Babyblocks und Sterne zeigt. Schaut doch mal bei ihr auf dem Blog vorbei:

VOR einigen Jahren hab ich ja ganz g’scheit behauptet: „Also das Quilten ist nix für mich, ich mag so kleine Teile nicht“ … Irgendwie hat sich das dann doch gaaaaaaaaanz anders entwickelt.
Jetzt sag ich mal „Mit der Hand nähen mag ich gar nicht“ … Mal sehen.. reden wir einfach IN ein paar Jahre darüber 😉
Das mit den Schablonen ist ganz toll, dass ihr sowas gemacht habt. Da finden sich bestimmt viele Abnehmer, das wünsche ich dir auf jeden Fall ganz fest. Ich bin ja auch so ein Schablonenfreak. Ich habe mir immer schon welche gemacht, z.B. früher als ich ganz viel mit Papier gemacht habe. Für den Leseknochen habe ich mir auch schon vor Jahren eine dicke Kartonschablone geschnitten. Sie erleichtern einem einfach das Leben.
