Und zwar möchte ich euch zeigen wie ihr mit den neuen 2,5 Inch Trapez-Linealen ein super einfaches Top nähen könnt, das eure bedruckten Stoffe so richtig schön zur Geltung bringt und sich ideal für einen kleinen Tischläufer, Platzset oder – wie in meinem Fall – ein Kissen ideal eignet.
Was wir brauchen ist ein Charm Pack – mit mindestens 15 Stoffstücken – oder ein Mini Charm Pack. Zusätzlich ca. 0,75 m Stoff für die Rückseite und die Ränder (wenn man denn ein Kissen daraus machen möchte). Alternativ kann man auch Jelly Roll Streifen nutzen, die für die kleinen Trapezlineale ebenfalls super geeignet sind. Oder man spart sich etwas Zeit beim Zuschnitt und geht direkt auf die tollen Mini Charm Packs mit 2,5 Inch x 2,5 Inch Kantenlänge, die es z.B. von Moda gibt (in kürze auch in unserem Shop zu finden).
Wenn du von einem regulären Charm Pack aus beginnst, muss dieses erstmal geviertelt werden. Hierfür einfach die Stoffstücke je auf der Hälfte einmal waagerecht und einmal senkrecht teilen damit ihr 4 Stapel 2,5 Inch x 2,5 Inch große Patches erhaltet.
Jetzt müssen wir diese Stoffstücke mit unserem 2,5 Inch Trapez-Lineal zurechtschneiden. Das Allerbeste ist, dass der Verschnitt durch die auf die Precuts abgestimmte Linealgröße auf einem Minimum gehalten wird. Für ein Kissen mit den Maßen 40 cm x 60 cm, wie oben abgebildet, benötigen wir 50 Trapeze. Hast du alle Trapeze zurechtgeschnitten, musst du noch 10 Trapeze aus deinem Uni-Stoff schneiden sowie insgesamt 7 Streifen mit einer Breite von 3/4 Inch von der Meterware. Zusätzlich noch zwei 3 Inch Streifen, die später für den Rand des Kissens gebraucht werden. Der Rest der Meterware ist für die Kissenrückseite. (Wobei du hier natürlich nicht die gleiche Farbe wie auf der Vorderseite nehmen musst…bei mir hatte es sich nur gerade so angeboten ;o) ).
Nachdem wir die 50 Trapeze in zwei gleich große Haufen geteilt haben, können wir mit den zwei Stapeln und den 3/4 Inch Streifen, die wir zuvor abgeschnitten haben, zur Nähmaschine gehen und loslegen. Der Grund für die zwei Stapel ist, dass wir die Streifen bei der einen Hälfte an die linke und bei der anderen Hälfte der Trapeze an die rechte Seite nähen müssen. Achtet darauf, dass ihr hier nicht durcheinander kommt und näht eure Trapeze fest. Am einfachsten geht dies, wenn ihr euren Streifen nach unten legt und dann immer das nächste Trapez auflegt und nacheinander den Streifen in einem Durchgang mit Trapezen benäht.
ACHTUNG: Lasst zwischen den Trapezen genug Platz! Da die 3/4 Inch Streifen mit den Trapezen im nächsten Schritt schräg durchtrennt werden, benötigen wir etwas mehr Abstand als beispielsweise bei Rechtecken!
Die Stoffstreifen mit den aufgenähten Trapezen sollten dann wie folgt aussehen :
Das Lineal im Bild gibt es übrigens auch seit neustem in unserem Shop. Es ist wie die Minis aus 3 mm dickem Acrylglas und alle Markierungen sind eingraviert und NICHT aufgedruckt. Diese halten somit ein Lineal-Leben lang und – obwohl ich mich bewusst dazu entschieden habe möglichst wenige Markierungen zu machen, um einen ungestörten Blick auf den unterliegenden Stoff zu gewährleisten – ist doch alles, was der ambitionierte Patchworker benötigt, bis hin zu 30, 45 und 60 Grad Markierungen abgebildet. Mit einer Größe von 3 Inch mal 15 Inch finde ich es einen perfekten Kompromiss zwischen Größe und Handlichkeit….So…..“Schleichwerbung“ wieder aus ;o)….
Presst nun die Trapeze mit eurem Bügeleisen auf und trennt die Stoffstreifen bündig mit den Trapezseiten durch. Legt euch die Trapeze wieder zu den zuvor eingeteilten 25er Stapeln zusammen und fangt an eure Reihen auszulegen – immer abwechselnd vom einen und vom anderen Stapel die Trapeze nehmend:
Für einen Kissenbezug in der Größe 60 cm x 40 cm benötigen wir insgesamt 5 Reihen zu je 10 Trapezen.
Im nächsten Schritt müssen die einzelnen Reihen der Trapeze zusammengenäht werden. Geht hier am besten Reihe für Reihe vor, damit ihr nicht durcheinander kommt (ich spreche aus Erfahrung ;o) ). Es hilft außerdem ein Foto zu machen.
Nun habt ihr eure Trapezstreifen fast fertig. An einem Ende der Streifen ist bereits ein 3/4 Inch Streifen dran, an der anderen Seite muss dieser noch angebracht werden bevor ihr jeweils links und rechts ein zusätzliches Trapez in Hintergrundfarbe annäht und die Seiten mit den Uni-Trapezen ungefähr auf der Hälfte dieser Trapeze begradigt (Im folgenden Bild unten rechts bei dem Trapez zu sehen)
Nun fehlt auch nicht mehr viel. Die Trapezstreifen werden jetzt mit jeweils einem 3/4 Inch Streifen des Basic- bzw. Uni-Stoffs zusammengenäht.
Im letzten Schritt muss noch der Rand angenäht werden. Nehmt hierfür die bereits am Anfang geschnittenen 3 Inch Streifen. Und schon ist euer Top oder eure Kissenoberseite fertig.
Nun könnt ihr dem Top, je nach Verwendungszweck, noch ein Vlies hinterlegen, absteppen oder nach belieben weiterverarbeiten.
Ich habe mich dazu entschlossen nicht abzusteppen und einfach mit einem passenden Reißverschluss und der restlichen Meterware ein einfaches Kissen zu machen bei dem der verwendete Stoff von Benartex sehr schön zur Geltung kommt (den gibt es bald auch bei uns im Shop zu kaufen…noch ein wenig Geduld ;o)).
Da ich für das Kissen ein großes Charm Pack mit insgesamt 42 Stoffstücken verwendet habe, liegt hier im Moment noch ein großer Stapel bereits zurech geschnittener 2,5 x 2,5 Inch großer Stoffrechtecke….nur gut, dass ich noch das kleine Mini-Quasihexagon hier habe…und…was ein Zufall…ich brauche doch auch glatt noch eine weitere Kissenhülle (die nächste wird 50 x 50 cm groß). Das einzige Problem ist, dass mir die bekannten Herangehensweisen voneinander abgegrenzte Hexagone zu nähen etwas mühsam erscheinen (ähnlich den hier vorgestellten Trapezen)….aber da wird sich doch bestimmt eine einfachere Lösung finden lassen ;o)….Aber die werde ich euch beim nächsten Mal vorstellen.
