Da bin ich endlich wieder!
Nach dem Riesenerfolg der Allie And The Dude Hexagon Pakete, die es teilweise sogar nach Übersee geschafft haben, und einigen Bewerbungsgesprächen hat sich die Produktion der Hexagone inzwischen so eingependelt, dass ich vor zwei Wochen endlich mit den Vorbereitungen für den Hauptakt unseres English Paper Piecing Sommers beginnen konnte. Aber bevor wir dazu kommen, möchte ich mich an dieser Stelle noch einmal bei euch ALLEN herzlich bedanken!!!!! Die nette Resonanz und die zahlreichen Bestellungen, die zu Spitzenzeiten – trotz Nachtschichten auf meiner Seite – tatsächlich zu Wartezeiten von mehreren Tagen geführt haben, waren echt überwältigend – etwas mit dem wir, Gesine und ich, niemals gerechnet haben und was uns wirklich eine riehiesen Freude bereitet.

Viele haben dazu angemerkt, dass sie es schade finden, dass wir „nur“ 50 Papierschablonen pro Set anbieten und hätten gerne mehr für zusätzliche Schablonen bezahlt. Manch einer hat vielleicht die Videos bei Gesine auf Instagram gesehen, auf denen ich am verpacken war, und konnte zumindest erahnen, warum dies leider bislang nicht nicht möglich war….bislang….denn ab sofort gibt es auch separat erhältliche Papierschablonen in unserem Shop, ganz ohne Acryllineale. Quasi als „Nachfüllset“ ;o) Ich muss dazu sagen, dass diese nicht von mir selber geschnitten wurden, von der Qualität her der Allie And The Dude Schablonen aber in nichts nachstehen!
So….nun ist’s aber genug des Vorgeplänkels….und frei nach einer meiner Lieblingsserien derzeit:

Und auch wenn es bei dem Wetter draußen die letzte Woche nicht ganz danach aussah, möchten wir dies doch mit dem Hauptgang unseres Allie And The Dude – English Paper Piecing Sommers feiern. Und damit stelle ich euch ohne weiteres Geschwafel meinerseits vor ;o):
Das Summer Meadow English Paper Piecing Set
Dieses Set enthält insgesamt 4 Acryllineale in bekannter Allie And The Dude Qualität mit zugehörigen Papierschablonen, um die Vorderseite einer Kissenhülle mit den Maßen 60 cm x 40 cm nähen zu können. Man kann natürlich auch einen Miniquilt daraus machen oder eine kleine Tischdecke :o)
Da ich – genauso wie bei den letzten Sets – bis unter die Hutkrempe mit der Produktion der Sets beschäftigt bin, findet ihr HIER bei Gesine eine etwas detailliertere Anleitung zu diesem Set, inklusive Designvorschlägen, Ausmalhilfen und vielem mehr.
Da wir vor Kurzem eine ganze Menge neuer Riley Blake Stoffe rein bekommen haben (einfach mal im Shop vorbei schauen, da sind wirklich wieder unglaublich Schöne dabei), bin ich nun im Besitz einer Stoffreihe, auf die ich ganz besonders gewartet habe, da mir die Farben einfach zu gut gefallen. Ich spreche natürlich von der Arbor Blossom-Reihe von der wunderbaren Nadra (ellis & higgs), deren Blog ihr HIER finden könnt, zusammen mit super tollen Ideen, was man mit ihren Stoffen so alles anstellen kann.
Als ich diesen Stoff dann auch endlich in den Händen hatte und die schönen Blumen „in echt“ bestaunen konnte, stand der Entschluss auch relativ schnell fest: Denn was könnte besser zum Thema „Sommerwiese“ (Summer Meadow) passen, als dieser wundervoll geblümte Stoff? Also hieß es ran ans Schneidebrett und los geschnitten:
Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen, die den Stoff mit Nadel und Faden über die Papierschablonen ziehen, bevorzuge ich die Klebevariante. Hier lege ich die Papierschablone einfach mittig auf die linke Stoffseite, fahre mit dem Klebestift (ich bevorzuge den klassischen von Sewline, den ihr HIER bei uns finden könnt, und der im Prinzip wie ein Pritt-Stifft für Stoff funktioniert) ca. 3/8 Inch von der Papierkante entfernt über die Schablone, klappe den Stoff einfach rüber und drücke ihn leicht fest. Das wiederhole ich für alle anderen Seiten bzw. für alle anderen Schablonen :o). Solltet ihr euch für das Fussy Cutting eures Stoffs entschieden bzw. ein ganz bestimmtes Motiv ausgeschnitten haben, bietet es sich an vor dem Kleben die Nahtzugabe mit einem Wasserlöslichen Stoffmarker zu markieren, wie es ihn z.B. auch von Sewline gibt:
Auf das Vernähen der Blumen werde ich an dieser Stelle nicht weiter eingehen und möchte hier nochmal an Gesine verweisen. Da mir leider noch eine fiese Sehnenscheidenentzündung Anfang letzter Woche dazwischen gekommen ist und ich meine verbleibende Energie in der rechten Hand auf die Fertigstellung der Summer Meadow Pakete konzentrieren wollte, gibt es heute von mir noch kein fertiges Kissen zu sehen. Dafür aber schonmal meine fertigen Blumen, die ich im nächsten Schritt einfach nur noch mit den restlichen Teilen zu meiner fertigen Kissenvorderseite zusammennähen muss:
In weiser Voraussicht haben wir uns entschlossen dieses Mal ein paar Probenäherinnen mit an Bord zu holen, denen wir bereits vorab ein Test-Set haben zukommen lassen und die sich wirklich ins Zeug gelegt haben. Allen voran soll hier die liebe Yvonne von Phi & Lu genannt werden, die das erste Summer Meadow Kissen überhaupt fertig gestellt hat und deren Arbeit mich echt sprachlos gemacht hat. Aber auch Dominique von Kreamino hat bereits loslegen können und Gesine selbstverständlich auch :o):
Die Sets gibt es natürlich ab sofort bei mir im Shop (Genau HIER ;o)).
